Part of the Malayalee culture is to celebrate the 28th (month) day of a newborn's life. This is the time the baby gets his name. Since Kavi was born here, however, we had to give a name in the hospital for vital records. The eye make-up is to protect the child from evil eye. The father's father holds the baby and whispers the name in his ear and everyone puts pieces of jewelry on him.
It is sleepy time for Kavi. He had a long morning.
