Where's the party tonight?
The entire Chandran/Manoharan family minus, you guessed it, Anup's twin Arun.
Kavi's 28th Day!!
Part of the Malayalee culture is to celebrate the 28th (month) day of a newborn's life. This is the time the baby gets his name. Since Kavi was born here, however, we had to give a name in the hospital for vital records. The eye make-up is to protect the child from evil eye. The father's father holds the baby and whispers the name in his ear and everyone puts pieces of jewelry on him.
It is sleepy time for Kavi. He had a long morning.Going to a party!
We went to a party at Ashok Uncle and Shaji Auntie's house. Kavi is wearing his outfit that he wore home from the hospital. It was the only thing that was small enough to fit him when he was born and the only thing that fit him well enough 4 weeks later!
